Overview. This is a quick and easy sunset hike on the last unmarked trail before crossing above Nada Tunnel Road. We were running late from Sky Bridge Station, so we needed something fast and short. This fit the bill nicely.

Route Type | Out and Back
Total Distance | 1 mile
Overall Difficulty | Easy
unmarked trail

Trailhead. We parked at the first parking spot nearest the circle that leads to Double Arch, just short of the Auxier Ridge parking lot. At sunset, most have already left for the day, so plenty of parking should be available - even on the busiest weekends. [map]

Trail navigation. After parking, walk back south on Tunnel Ridge Road about 4/10ths of a mile. Keep your eyes to the right and look for a well defined trail where many have parked (illegally). From this point, it’s only a tenth of a mile to catch sunset on the rock outcropping. You’ll pass an established campsite and walk straight through some tall grasses that have grown in thanks to lack of tree cover. Just past this, you’ll find your views.
