Devou Park East Loop and Overlook

Overview. This short loop and spur offers a nice walk in the woods plus a wonderful overlook of Downtown Cincinnati. Feel free to make a figure eight out of the loop with the connector trail that bisects it.

Trailhead. Ample parking is available near the Drees Pavilion and along the circle drive near the Volpenheim Pavilion. [map]

Trail navigation. Begin by moving across the grass field to find the sign for the John Volz Trail and head to your right into the woods. Cross a stone bridge and continue the loop, staying right at all intersections before exiting the woods to a closed road with broken pavement. Go left here and move out to the overlook to take in the city views. Retrace your steps and return to the woods, taking a right at the first well-trod trail intersection. Continue the loop here until exiting the woods and returning to your car.
