Gunpowder Creek Nature Park - Sperti Park

Overview. Gunpowder Creek is the most playful creek in Boone County and kids LOVE IT!!! The creek is broad and depending on weather, is generally very tame and accessible. This time of year is by far the best to visit with a plethora of wildflowers to enjoy - especially nearest the creek.

Trailhead. 10 parking spaces are available at the trailhead. [map]

Trail navigation. There are numerous user trails off the main trail system that you can explore at your leisure. The main trail is denoted by gravel double track with single track spurs. Simply follow the gravel to stay on trail or take your time exploring this fun, accessible creek.

CAUTION - Trail Erosion with Steep Drop. There is one section along the northeastern spur along Gunpowder Creek that is being lost to the creek. Take care with children here, as a steep drop can result from careless steps.
