Yamacraw 50K

Far and away, this was my favorite race EVER! The trails were magnificent, the scenery was an absolute highlight reel, and the level of challenge was everything I could handle.

I didn't snap a single picture before, during, or after this race - I had a cutoff time to worry about:-)

Officially, it was 10 hours, 36 minutes, and 49 seconds of truly EPIC trail running. Cutoff time was 11 hours...so...#nailedit!

Joining me at the race were Handsome Gary and Rob and Lyn Gentry. This was Handsome Gary's first ultramarathon and first trail race. He rocked it at 8:39:28.

Rob had run longer races and is an Ironman. He finished in 7:18:43.

Lyn saw us off for our 50K, and she finished the 10K course that wraps around Blue Heron.

It's always nice to race with friends - and even more fun to celebrate a hard earned finish.

I could go on for days about this race, but let's just leave at this - if you're a distance runner, train and run this race. It may very well be the best 50K race in the Commonwealth.
