Trail navigation. The trail starts on some old pavement leading to a lookout point before descending down and back up to the arch. Follow this well marked and heavily trafficked trail around the rock formation that contains the arch before returning to the trailhead.
CAUTION - Poisonous snakes. Beware of timber rattlesnakes and copperheads in the area. Stay alert on the trail, as snakes are commonly found taking in the warmth of the trail. Give them a wide berth or wait for them to move off the trail. [More on Kentucky’s Venomous Snakes]
CAUTION - Bears. Black bears are growing in number throughout Daniel Boone National Forest. Be sure to follow bear safety precautions. [Be Bear Aware by US Forest Service]
